Rio is a young dog that has a pretty good cold nose. He runs with a tight mouth until the bear is jumped. Once the bear is jumped he is a very open bawl-mouthed dog. He is tough on a caught bear and will not back down or will not leave a tree.

Blackpaws Homer is the best all around dog that I have ever owned. Homer has a medium nose but is a very smart dog. He was my main dog for a couple of years and trained a lot of my current dogs. He is one of those dogs that always seems to bail me out when I need it. Homer is an excellent dog on a caught bear and a stay put tree dog. I owe a lot to this dog and I hope to have a couple more good years with him. Homer is an excellent dog in the snow as well. We have killed a lot of coyotes and a couple of bobcats with his help.

Blackpaws Clifford is a young dog out of Blackpaws Morgan and Blaster who is owned by a good friend of mine. Clifford has only had one full bear season and did really well. he was on a lot of trees and even stayed on a tree after he was ripped up by a mean bear. Clifford is a good young dog that i have real high hopes for.

Blackpaws Spook WAS a very good dog. Spook has been beat up so many times it's just hard for him to run them anymore. Spook is also a little gunshy now from having numerous bear shot right over his head. Our group owes a lot to this dog.
